Dr John Rooney is an Orthopaedic Surgeon who sub-specialises in Hip, Knee and Ankle conditions.

Dr Rooney graduated with Honours from the University of Sydney with a Bachelor of Medicine, Bachelor of Surgery, in 1994. He is a Fellow of both the Royal Australian College of Surgeons (F.R.A.C.S) and the Australian Orthopaedic Association (F.A.Orth.A).

Dr Rooney has built over the years a strong reputation as an Australian pioneer in computer navigated, minimally invasive, anterior total hip replacement surgery, also known as Direct Anterior Approach (DAA). He has fine-tuned this innovative surgical technique and has dedicated over half a decade to this approach with very rewarding results for his patients.

Dr Rooney’s surgical interests extend beyond the hip. He is also very passionate about knee and ankle surgery because they form part of the ‘kinetic chain’ to the hip. Dr Rooney has a large repertoire of surgical options for each of these three areas, including total knee and total ankle replacement and ligament reconstruction

Dr Andrew Higgs is an Orthopaedic Surgeon that specialises in surgery of the Foot and Ankle.

Andrew completed his medical training at the University of Sydney and received his specialist qualifications in Orthopaedic Surgery from the Royal Australasian College of Surgeons

Andrew’s specialist interest and knowledge is in all Foot and Ankle conditions, particularly sports injuries, deformity correction such as bunion correction and minimally invasive surgical techniques, treating recreational athletes as well as professional sportsmen and women.

Andrew has been awarded a Master’s of Science degree from the University of Dundee, Scotland for his research in Achilles tendon ruptures. This research led to Dr Higgs pioneering a minimally invasive Achilles tendon repair technique and accelerated rehabilitation program.

Andrew is also a surgeon in the Australian Defence Force and has returned from his second operational deployment as a Combat Orthopaedic Surgeon.
